About Southtown Baptist Church
Southtown is an Independent Baptist Church, started in 1961. "Baptist" describes our historic beliefs and doctrines, but Southtown is not affiliated with any denominations or conventions.
We teach and preach only from the King James Bible.
Our music is conservative and Christ-honoring.
We welcome all visitors, and we have a strong tradition of reaching out to people of all ethnic groups and all walks of life.
We are conveniently located on the south side of Des Moines, Iowa. Our church is easily accessible from anywhere in Des Moines or from the surrounding suburbs. Southtown is located just north of the Southridge Mall, and directly east of the Des Moines International Airport (star on map indicates location).
